Jelle Behagel
Jelle Behagel is Associate Professor with the Forest and Nature Conservation Policy Group (FNP) of Wageningen University, the Netherlands. His expertise is in the democratic governance of nature, and how forest discourses constitute forest politics. He moreover has studied and written extensively on political practices of forest and nature conservation across the global-local nexus. Building on this expertise, Jelle works today on exploring the fantasmatic role of forest and nature in the age of the Anthropocene.
Roald Nooijens
Roald Nooijens is a PhD researcher at the Forest and Nature Conservation Policy Group of Wageningen University, holding a double masters in nature policy and urban development. His PhD project is on forest futures in the Netherlands, focusing on how social, political, and emotional dynamics influence the construction of, anticipation on, and desires forest futures. Furthermore, he writes on the affective and ideological dimension of global biodiversity politics. His work is inspired by the psychoanalytic themes of the fantasmatic, imaginary, and unconscious.
Eline Schothorst
Eline Schothorst is a teacher in Nature, landscapes and agro-ecology at Aeres MBO Dronten Warmonderhof. She holds a masters degree in Forest and Nature Policy and Sustainable Development Diplomacy. Since 2024 she started a parttime PhD research on the political fantasies in Dutch Agricultural education. What futures for Dutch agriculture are imagined and how do they perform through collective emotions in classrooms and educational environment? The research also looks at educational philosophies that give space to and engage with highly politicized futures and emotions.
