walking natures

a global project exploring local human-nature relationships

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Take a walk in nature that opens up interactions with nature, brings you closer to nature, and helps you reflect on your role in nature! Walking Natures is a participative research project that explores and maps the plurality of human-nature relationships around the world. Everyone experiences natures while being in nature, walking through nature, or observing nature, but we often do so in different ways. Walking increases the encounters that we have with nature and opens up thoughts and associations. We, a research team from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, want to understand the real-life experiences of and relationships people have with their nature. Using the internet, we aim to reach people from all over the world and to hear from many voices.

You can participate in Walking Natures by walking in an area that connects you to nature: this can be anywhere you like to be. The instructions for participation are written to connect you to your experience of nature. Download the instructions here.
